It is important to avoid direct contact with sunlight. If you want to save the artwork, instead of having it exposed, it should be done in a drawer and protected with a tissue paper or any other soft paper.

If you exhibit the artwork in a room, it must be protected by glass or methacrylate with UV protection.

If you want to frame it, the materials must be acid free as well as the passepartout. If the frame is made of wood and is in direct contact with the photo, it must be made of natural wood and without varnish.

Adhesives must also be acid free. If not, any other adhesive could leave yellow marks and deteriorate the support.

The work should never be touched directly with the hands in order to avoid leaving traces of grease or moisture. You have to touch it with cotton gloves like the ones that we enclose inside the package.

Do not screw the photograph back on after it has been removed from the tube in case you have received it like that.

Store the work in a cool, dry place preferably at a room temperature between 10º and 30º with a relative humidity between 49% and 60%.

If you have acquired more than one photograph, they should never be touched between them since the surface is very sensitive. You should always put a tissue paper or, at least, another soft paper between the both of them.

Receive a thoughtful touch with every purchase – a pair of pristine white cotton gloves and a personalized postcard.

To ensure the safe delivery of your artwork, we take utmost care in packaging. Depending on the size, your piece will be shipped flat or rolled in a secure tube, carefully encased in bubble wrap for maximum protection.

The Story

“EMANCIPATION” – (2023) Charcoal, Graphite Pencil, White Pencil, Pigment Liner & Chinese Ink on Paper.

This work, the third piece in the “Forbidden Fruit” series. A Unique Edition in Black & White of the Original Artwork “EMANCIPATION”.

From ancestral origins to democratic modernity, women have been assimilated, reduced and assigned to our bodies. A body that does not belong to us, a body that is at the disposal of the other, whether to give birth, feed, produce or satisfy. A female body, known as the place of submission to the phallocentric order par excellence.

“EMANCIPATION” represents the decisive moment of return to corporeality, to claim our freedom and equality in the area of intimacy. A liberation of women from the yoke of their maternal and sexual bodies.

The departure from the patriarchal yoke to regain control of our intimate bodies and free them from the objectification to which they have been reduced, which condemns them to being exclusively useful for procreation or as sexual objects.

“EMANCIPATION” is an invitation to open the doors of desire satisfaction and access to pleasure, to claim the possibility of freely exploring our sexuality and fully enjoying our bodies. Free to choose our partners and erotic lifestyle, and that finally recognizes the diversity of sexualities and their practices.

“EMANCIPATION” is a look from the feminine to the woman’s body, which contemplates itself, reappropriates and recognizes itself as its means of expression of subjective existence and through which it can obtain its independence.
