B&W Abstract Figurative Expressionism Series

About the B&W Abstract Figurative Expressionism Series

The B&W Abstract Figurative Expressionism Art series is an exploration of the limitless capabilities of artistic expression. This series not only showcases my dedication to realism but also my love for blending it with abstract elements. You will find a harmonious blend of traditional realism and abstract forms, creating a unique visual narrative.

The pieces range from purely figurative representations to abstract figurations, all united by a profound emotional expression.

Each work in the series uses diverse materials such as graphite pencil, charcoal and inks, sometimes individually, sometimes in combination. Each piece has its own formula, adapting the materials to the specific artistic vision of the work.

Each piece is loaded with meaning, revealing fragments of the human condition and deep emotions, using monochrome as the main vehicle of expression. This monochromatic approach highlights the dramatic contrasts and emotional depth of each work, inviting you on an introspective journey through shapes and shadows.

THE SERIES

B&W Abstract Figurative Expressionism Artworks Series

B&W Abstract Figurative Expressionism Artworks Series. (2021 – present)

I have always been passionate about realistic art, but realistic art that communicates an emotion, something that goes beyond recreating mere reality. And even more passionate about the challenge of creating art of this type only with the black and white tonal range. The fascination I find in the contrasts, tones and textures necessary to achieve this style is incomparable. Through my experimentation, I have also discovered a love for combining realism with abstractions. In this series, you will find pieces that reflect this unique combination, creating a dialogue between the figurative and the abstract. The series ranges from purely figurative pieces to abstract figurations, but all of them share expressionism.

My main focus is anatomy and body expression, transmitting emotions through the body as a means of intimate communication.

THE PIECES

My dedication and passion in capturing the true essence of the subject is reflected in this collection that resonates on a visceral level. Each work has an emotional quality that seek to capture the very essence of what it means to be human.

Going beyond Anatomy

Through the masterful study of anatomy, I manage to capture the depth and nuances of the human body and its expressions. With each brushstroke, I want to bring to life a heightened sense of realism that invites you into the complexities of the human experience. These works invite contemplation and introspection, prompting us to reflect on our own corporeality and the wide range of emotions that can be transmitted through body language.

Emotional Art

Going beyond merely depicting physical features, these works of art want to bring life to the canvas, each brushstroke infused with an emotional charge that seek connecting with you on a deep level. The collection serves as a testament to my passion to capture not just the outward appearance of the subject, but the very essence of their being.

“To me, black and white mean something more than contrast or opposites, on the contrary, they are the manifestation of a unity that inhabits everything that exists: “the light and the darkness”, because there is no light without shadow, there is no joy without sadness…
